Modernisation and treatment of facades for Partenord residences in the Lille metropolitan area

Project Context

As part of its innovation programmes, Partenord Habitat has initiated a first experimental site in Sin-le-Noble, supervised by the innovation service led by Benoît Finez. Following initial promising results, various sector managers entrusted facade treatment operations to FlyRenov during the year 2024. These projects are part of a strong commitment from Partenord: to maintain the quality of life for residents, reduce the maintenance costs of housing, and protect the environment through the exclusive use of biosourced and biodegradable products.

Objectives and Methodology

Addressing issues of quality of life and sustainability

The maintenance of the facades of residences is an essential element to ensure the longevity of coatings and to delay as much as possible the need for heavy and costly renovations. Vegetative pollution marks also detract from the aesthetics of the buildings, which is particularly unfortunate for recently rehabilitated residences. The drone treatment solution from FlyRenov has particularly interested the managers of Partenord since it guarantees that:

  • Provides visible results within a month after treatment

  • Utilizes biosourced and biodegradable products, with no risk to biodiversity or soils

  • Minimizes disturbances for residents through quick, clean, and discreet interventions

  • Reduces future maintenance costs through durable facade protections

Intervention Sites and Challenges Faced

Several residences concerned by moss removal needs

The interventions took place at several sites located between Douai, Saint Quentin, and Lille:

  • La Salamandre Residence

  • La Fleurande Residence

  • Clémenceau Residence (comprising 5 to 6 buildings as part of a renovation plan)

  • Bessières and Bartholdi Residences

These buildings faced issues of vegetative pollution on their facades that develop naturally a few years after renovations in the absence of initial treatment of the surfaces.

Results and Recognition

Visible results and positive feedback

The first results were visible within a month after the first intervention, with a progressive disappearance of vegetative pollution and a renovated appearance of the buildings. The finalisation through the application of water repellent ensures durable protection, thereby reducing future maintenance needs.

Presentation to Partenord agencies

In October 2024, during the intervention on the Clémenceau residence, we had the opportunity to present our solution to nearly 25 Partenord staff members. This demonstration in real conditions, with our drone pilot in action, marked a significant and rewarding moment for our teams. This exchange allowed us to showcase the effectiveness of our innovative methods and their contribution to the safety of the sites.

Conclusion

These various works illustrate the value of our drone treatment technology, which harmonises technical performance, environmental respect, and service quality.

Our collaboration with the innovation service of Partenord, and the recognition received during public presentations, reinforce our approach: to make the maintenance of heritage simpler, safer, and more effective through new technologies.
