Cleaning of Asbestos Roofs of Secondary Schools in Loiret

As part of its commitment to the sustainable and safe maintenance of its buildings, the Loiret Department has launched a call for tenders for the cleaning of asbestos roofs of six departmental secondary schools. This project, carried out over several months, was designed to meet strict safety and performance requirements while respecting environmental standards related to asbestos management.

Work Completed

The work involved several sites across the Loiret area, including secondary schools and staff accommodation. For each site, appropriate cleaning and maintenance solutions were implemented, allowing for effective and quick intervention while ensuring the integrity of the structures and roofs.

The main stages completed are:

  • Protection of Sensitive Areas: Before any intervention, plants and sensitive areas were protected by the installation of plastic sheeting, thus ensuring the preservation of the environment and infrastructure.

  • Cleaning and Moss Removal: On each asbestos roof, the scraping of moss and lichens was carried out with particular care, followed by rinsing with clear water to eliminate residues and ensure a clean and healthy surface.

  • Application of Curative and Preventive Treatment: A curative and preventive cleaning product was applied to each roof, effectively treating the roof while providing lasting protection against atmospheric and biological agents.

  • Unclogging of Rainwater Drainage Systems: Each intervention was completed with a meticulous unclogging of the rainwater drainage systems to ensure their proper functioning and prevent any infiltration.
