FlyRénov supports Foncia in the façade cleaning by drone at the Vulcain II residence

A high-rise project under significant environmental constraints

The Vulcain II residence is a high-rise building particularly exposed to the impacts of weather conditions. To meet the desires of the co-owners to enhance these architecturally styled façades, Foncia entrusted FlyRénov with a technical intervention for cleaning and treating façades by drone, combining performance, safety, and innovation.

Details of the service

Façade treatment by drone for the Vulcain II residence

The operation focused on the treatment of 5,760 m² of façades clad with Alucobond, on a building of 18 storeys rising to 55 metres. Conducted in the spring of 2025, this service aimed to remove ingrained dirt while respecting the constraints of a fragile surface.

Project presentation

A high-rise building in an exposed urban environment

Situated in an area heavily subjected to air pollution, the Vulcain II residence had façades marked by persistent organic deposits and dirt linked to external conditions. The height of the building, combined with exposure to wind and sunlight, made any traditional intervention cumbersome and restrictive.

The use of drones emerged as an optimal solution for intervening quickly, without the installation of scaffolding or lifts, while minimizing disturbances for the occupants.

Technical challenges and project constraints

An intervention with high technical added value

The main challenge lay in mastering the intervention at great heights, on a lustrous covering that is particularly sensitive. The combination of wind, direct sunlight, and the nature of the cladding required great precision in both washing and product application.

The safety of teams and residents, the building's continued usability, and the necessity for a uniform aesthetic result were non-negotiable imperatives.

Solution implemented

A methodology combining precision and durability

FlyRénov deployed a medium-pressure washing by drone effectively removing pollutants and organic deposits without damaging the Alucobond cladding. This preparatory phase was followed by the application of a fungicidal solution, addressing existing contamination.

The use of the drone allowed for uniform application, high treatment consistency, and a significant reduction in intervention times.

On-site coordination and management of extreme conditions

Weather anticipation and real-time adaptation

Each project phase was planned according to weather conditions, with particular attention paid to wind gusts and sunlight cycles.

The flexibility of the drone solution, capable of switching from one exposure to another in moments, was crucial in maintaining execution quality across all façades.

On-site feedback

When height demands absolute precision

At over 50 metres, the perception of distance with the drone changes completely. David, the pilot of the operation, recounts:

"It was a real challenge: at that height, you no longer perceive distance in a normal way, which makes piloting much more complex and requires maximum concentration."

For Damien, the pilot in charge of the operation:

“It was a complex project that forced us to adapt and evolve, a true challenge that I am happy to have accomplished.”

This project illustrates FlyRénov's ability to turn significant constraints into performance levers, relying on drone technology and the expertise of its teams

Conclusion

A reference in high-rise façade treatment

The intervention carried out for Foncia – Vulcain II Residence demonstrates the relevance of FlyRénov's drone cleaning solutions for high-rise maintenance. With a controlled technical approach, rigorous coordination, and expert teams, FlyRénov ensures secure, efficient, and sustainable interventions, aimed at enhancing collective real estate assets.
